Improving Video Recording Videos

As a content creator, the tools I use to film videos matter. Recently, I needed a way to hold my phone securely while recording, and I decided to 3D print a custom phone arm. The design was simple, and I was ready to print it and begin using the phone arm.

Execution

I conveniently loaded up the 3D model from an online repository into a slicing software. Thanks to the Bambulab A1 Mini's sleek interface, I was able to get the smaller parts printing as soon as possible. A couple hours of printing later, I had all of the screws and mounts needed for the phone arm. But how will I 3D print the long beams?

The Challenge of Small Build Plates

The Bambulab A1 Mini is a great printer, but its small build plate means I can’t print large parts. For my phone arm design, this limitation would’ve meant compromising on size or functionality (splitting up the parts causes a reduction in strength). Instead, I decided to send the design to PCBWay. They offer a 3D printing service that can handle larger prints without the restrictions of my home printer’s build plate.

The Solution: A Custom Phone Arm

I sent my design to PCBWay, and they printed the beams for the phone arm. The result was exactly what I needed. The arm is sturdy, holds my phone in place, and helps me record videos without holding the phone myself. This small piece of equipment has made filming easier and more efficient. And in addition, they were able to use an exotic material - one that I wasn't able to print by myself - to improve the tensile strength of the phone arm tenfold.

The phone arm works well for my videos, and I’ve been able to use it for everything from tutorials to reviews. It’s simple, reliable, and makes my setup look more professional.

Why I Chose PCBWay

I chose PCBWay because their 3D printing service offers high-quality prints, fast turnaround times, and the ability to handle designs that won’t fit on a smaller printer. They are flexible with materials and finishes, making it easy to get exactly what I need.

I’ve also found that PCBWay offers more than just 3D printing. They provide PCB prototyping, CNC machining, and other services that could be useful for a variety of projects. Their wide range of options makes them a one-stop shop for anyone looking to make custom parts.

A Simple Thanks to PCBWay

Thanks to PCBWay, I now have a functional, custom phone arm that has improved my recording setup. The part was well-made, delivered on time, and allowed me to avoid the limitations of my own printer. If you need 3D printing for custom parts, I recommend checking out PCBWay.
